Bachelor (3rd year):

  • Tutorial and practical - Components of a Computing System: lecture website
    Lecturer: Albert Cohen.
    This lecture describes the basic mechanisms of operating systems and gives an overview of their purpose and functionality. It gives an introduction to many topics such as peripheral handling, networking or multi-threading support. Android is used during the practical as the target platform. The students use Google's operating system to develop basic applications.

Master (1st year):

  • Tutorial and practical - Operating Systems Principles and Programming: lecture website
    Lecturer: Albert Cohen.
    This lecture deepens the concepts studied in the lecture "Components of a Computing System" (see above). It explores the principles and design of modern operating systems and describes their programming interfaces. The practical covers topics such as interactions with the file systems, resource abstraction, memory handling, creation of kernel modules...
